Flowers for You!

For no reason other than I'm grateful for YOU...

It's a lovely Cotswolds market town where I love to always stop when I'm in the surroundings.
The vast market square serves as parking, but around it, you can admire nice Cotswolds town houses made of the typical honey- colored local stone.

Strolling down the alleys around it, you can find fascinating corners...

... interesting charity shops, a lot of tearooms and a selection of yummy shops...

(... can you tell I love hats??:))

(Love Emma Bridgewater too, I'm saving to buy a couple of her delightful pieces of pottery!
Aren't these mugs fabulous?)

... and several Antique shops!

The Old Toy Museum and Shop (that was closed the other time I visited the town) was on my to-do list. But much to my disappointment the owners had retired... Anyway, I was pleased to find a brand- new Vintage shop (Vintage & Paint) had taken its place... so I wasn't disappointed after all!

The owner was so kind to allow me to take some shots...
I wish I had a ginormous suitcase... :)

Isn't this super- cute? Can you imagine my teddy bears in it? :)

In the end, I treated myself to a vintage souvenir. It was exactly what I was hoping for (as I had written in the comment section the day before I found it :))...

Thank you so much from my husband and I for your concern and well- wishes. The shoulder is still aching and he had some tests today, let's hope all is going to be ok.

Newest Articles.

A brief interlude to show you my latest articles in the current issues of Somerset Life and Memories.

In Life, you can find  some ideas to make your own clay tags. From plain, French-inspired stamped ones...

... to more elaborate with a mixed- media feel, inspired by summer and the Ocean.

A few additional shots by me...

I "stamped" shells, starfish, sea urchins into clay, and then added words, beads, natural coral and tiny shells to match the sea theme. I sewed burlap bags to go with them, for a stylish gift presentation.

Much to my surprise, I found another feature on the last page by the Editor-in-Chief herself.
Stuffed tartan hearts I had made for the staff at Stampington made it to the glossy pages, making me smile. Thanks a bunch, Christen!

This article in Somerset Memories has now become one of my favorites so far. It speaks of personal challenges but above all, of love...

Many thanks, Jana!
And thanks so much to those of you who took the time to write me about these articles, you made my day!

A little Accident and we're Back.

We had so many things to do and see... but unfortunately had to come back earlier, after my husband slipped outside of our cottage hurting his shoulder...
In any case, I have several shots to share with you in the next few days and tell you about them... a yummy vintage shop and pretty villages... please bear with me if I don't do that today. Yesterday the aircraft we were supposed to catch was hit by a lightning and ended up having a big hole in its body! Nedless to tell you, we were heavily delayed into the wee hours of the morning and are exhausted now!
Enjoy these shots of the English countryside... the colors are so different from one pic to another even if they've been taken on the same country road.

Driving on the wrong side of the road.. well, right or wrong is obviously just a point of view ;)

See you very soon, thanks for your patience.

Picture- Perfect Country.

Heaven for photographers... this Country truly is!
We were headed to Hidcote Gardens yesterday morning, but after rain started to fall heavily (with wind at 50 mph)... we decided to just explore the surroundings! And we happened to bump into the perfect tiny, picture- perfect Cotswolds village... Mickleton.
I just wanted to stop and take a picture at every corner!

Primroses, tulips, daffodils and spring flowers were everywhere!

I love everything with a dog theme...

Look who was peacefully sleeping by the window of a lovely cottage! :)

And while my hubby was busy with a business call, I found my way to the most quiet spot of the village... in total silence, under a pink cloud and with my feet over the soft moss, I was wondering who was resting in such a paradise... What about their lives, their struggles, their loves... were their hearts at peace now?

At home, a bunch of flowers from hubby was greeting me from the kitchen window...
